Last week was Sāmoan Language Week 2022! Our display this year included some of our non-fiction titles, with our title on traditional Sāmoan tattooing being popular; Tatau : a history of Sāmoan tattooing, books about Sāmoa, its culture, myths and legends and language and other Pasifika cultures, and fiction titles written by Sāmoan authors. As well as displaying some Sāmoan greetings.

This year’s theme was: ‘’Fa’aāuāu le folauga  I le va’a tautai’’ which means ‘’continue the voyage with competent way finders of the ocean’’. This theme was chosen to reflect the journey of revitalising our Sāmoan Language.
