The book Mockingjay is set in Panem, a science-fictional place in America post revolution. The country is split into 13 different districts, with one Capitol, which rules them all. After the destruction of District 12, where most of the books are set, the survivors from that district move into District 13, which was previously thought to be destroyed. They have created an underground world, where they now live.

Soon Katniss Everdeen, the main character, decides that she wants to be the Mockingjay, the face of the battle, and to lead the country into a rebellion against the Capitol. They succeed in this, and eventually it comes to a happy ending many years later. I really liked this book because it was really full on and interesting throughout the whole book. I recommend this because it is really an eye-catcher, and even though it is quite long, it is a great read. My favorite character in this book was Haymitch, because he is just such a random character. He was Katniss’s and Peeta’s trainer during their time in the games and afterwards, and he is a really funny guy. I chose to read this series, because I had heard that they were good books, and I really
enjoyed them. Overall I give this book a 4.5 out of 5.
