Ruby’s first rule: You can never be completely sure what will happen next
Child genius Ruby Redfort is only 13 years old when she is recruited as a code breaker for Spectrum 8. She is told by her boss that she has to keep her curiosity under control, or she’ll be kicked out of the undercover spy corporation. But life as a secret agent is dangerous and exciting, and Ruby finds herself plunged into a series of mysterious cases and intricate codes. Unidentifiable murderers and assassins are lurking around every corner, and Ruby can’t help taking matters into her own hands. She may be the youngest recruit since 1962, but Redfort doesn’t let that stop her.
I really enjoyed the Ruby Redfort series because it has a complex plot line that kept me guessing. Not only are these books full of action, they also have a great balance of humour and entertaining banter between Ruby and her friends. I also love that all the characters are full of personality and humour. My favourite character is Ruby, who is portrayed as a strong female protagonist; she is smart, capable and funny.
I found this series bursting with plot twists and gripping events that made me eager for more, and I recommended it for anyone wanting an exciting read.
