I am not usually a fantasy fan, but after reading Eragon my perspective on fantasy has changed.  Eragon was written by 15 year old Christopher Paolini, but the quality and telling of the story make it seem like it was written by an experienced author. 

The book follows a teenager called Eragon and his epic quest across the land of Alagaesia.  Forced to leave his home, Eragon rides across the land fighting enemies, making new friends and discovering secrets of his own heritage. This book is full of Dragons, battles, heroes, and lots of amazing characters.  This is only the first book of 4 and they keep getting better.
